Accident causes two-hour closure on I-87 | Transportation
An accident one mile shy of Lake George's exit caused a two-hour closure on Interstate 87 Monday.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office said in a release that just before 6 a.m. an empty tractor trailer owned by New Jersey-based Can Am Transit swerved to avoid a deer. This caused the truck to jackknife across all three lanes of the road.
At the same time a Diamond Point man was driving near the truck in his 2007 Toyota Yaris, which then struck the sideways trailer, police said.
No one was hurt in the accident, but it caused a complete lane closure for nearly two hours.
